Week 9 reading -HTML5

HTML5:
-is a language structure for presenting content on the web
-in theory is still in development stage
-goal of HTML5 is to improve the language using support for multimedia - while still helping the language be easily understood by both user (reader) and varying computer systems
-it attempts to define a single mark-up language facilitating HTML or XHTML syntax
-it has the ability to be cross-platform mobile device compatible (such as smartphones or tablets)
-new features include language for inserting video, audio and background graphics
-allows for by-passing proprietary plug-ins and APIs
-Adobe announced that it will discontinue Flash for mobile devices and replace with HTMLs
-APIs (application programming interface) expected as a result:
   -2D drawings
   -drop and drag
   -cross document messaging
   -browser history management tools
   -better web storage
-works with javascript or CSS3 for animation
-has a nifty superhero type logo
-is a real move towards making smart phones and tablets mirroring applications of iphone and ipad.
